(First live performance for the piece "Lavras", a graphic score by George Christian Vilela Pereira. Performed for the event Germina.Cciones - 1st edition, in November 6th, 2014, at the Music School of UFBA.
"Lavras" is a piece about the contemporary Brazilian Northwest, and about the apocaliptic topicality of the religious leader Antônio Conselheiro, who had prophetized, "The backwoods will turn into the sea, and the sea will turn into backwoods". In a way, I wanted to translate that into a sea of noises, in this transcience between the rural and the urban, in this road that cuts the backwoods and which also feels its contrasts, between rusticity and technology. It utilizes a graphic score marked by the indeterminacy of heights and rhythmic versification, in which colors are worked as suggestions of dynamics and expressivity, just like spectrograms.)
