My first album, "Às Vezes Sempre" ("Sometimes Always"), intends to be an instrumental introduction to my music, which relies quite much on improvisation. It is a paradoxical title, that conciliates permanence in the impermanent feelings, just like the music attempts to make. I wanted to express in this album a condition of being anew in a place which I felt unexplored to me. This is an album about self-discovery, in its mysterious and hard conditions.

I was a composer of songs and, after hearing albums like John Fahey's "The Transfiguration of Blind Joe Death" and Ravi Shankar's "Three Ragas" and, also, after getting more intimate with the tonal explorations of the avant-garde field in classical music, I decided to explore more seriously my instrumental side. It's a special album to me because it express my self-discovery as a musician, at the purest sense, and my own sonic tastes.

However, at the time of its release, I wasn't quite good on making a proper final audio product. The first edition of this album was rough, with some clipping and hiss troubles. So, I've decided to re-release here with a slightly better audio quality.

It was originally recorded in the years of 2008 and 2009 (sporadically) and released by the net-label Stomoxine Records in March 9th, 2010 (Catalogue number: STX11) - stomoxine.bandcamp.com/album/s-vezes-sempre.

Track Name: Dança das Colisões

ascese do suspiro:

minha mãe, grito por um adeus
meu pai, campo de batalha

um sufoco
um socorro

o que quer que tenha caído,
nunca será meu

do universo um vôo

catarses de esquecimentos
berço de memórias

memórias de berço
esquecimentos de catarses

um vôo do universo

nunca será meu
o que quer que tenha caído

um socorro
um sufoco

batalha de campo, meu pai
um adeus por grito, minha mãe

suspiro da ascese

a alma adensa um último copo d’água

no time to have time,
your face yelled me like a diamond
after a consummate defeat... or a revolt... or a victory... or history

of not having time to have time,
here's the weight of a huge star
ASTERIA in your artery, ammnesia in an era, fantastic vacations

there's no need to regret if this is our misery,
there's the fear of inertia - and nothing else...
as much as the glade of one more tear arises,
more the scars of a way in the earth sprout,
and the petal of a frail poem and
absent jest liquefies

no time to have time, here's the center
of your star in one more footpath,
here's the dilemma of glissandos and staccattos,
whistles to the quick absence
of shelters from the rains
of a harsh smile with no tooth to ru(i)n(e)s,
constellaseas of awaken waiting

a last cup of water accumulates the soul
ascension of the whisper:

my mother, scream for a goodbye
my father, field of battles

a suffocation
a succor

what had to be fallen
won't never be mine

from the universe a flight
catharsis of forgetfulness
cradle of memories

memories from the cradle
forgetfulness of catharsis

a flight of the universe

won't never be mine
what had to be fallen

a succor
a suffocation

battle of fields, my father
a goodbye for scream, my mother

whisper of the ascension

the soul accumulates a last cup of water
