It was in April 1st 2019 that I became aware of the sad and unexpected death of a really dear contact of mine Jared C. Balogh. Our mutual friend Igor Jovanovic (Lezet) has reported it on Facebook. I had the chance to meet Jared only virtually. He left this world when he was 43 and resident in Bethlelem, Pennsylvannia (USA). My very first meeting was with his extremely innovative music during the My Space days. I noticed that his sound was unashamedly electronic, despite designed for human performance many times and for acoustic or electric instruments. He was a multi-artist and, also, a very generous and extremely friendly person. I remember that he’d write on our chattings with only capital letters and, believe in it or not, THAT WAS HIS NORMAL! (lol)... Anyway, Jared left us a HUGE legacy behind with his art and promotion of the others’. He was generous enough to create a netlabel called Altered State Reflections (www.alteredstateofmine.net/altered-state-reflections/) and opened fronteers to several online music artists, many of them as daring and experimental as he was. Under this netlabel, I released the rst EP version of my ‘Electric Ramblings’ and a song was included in one commemorative compilation. As I said before, Jared was unashamedly electronic and productive, and his minimalistic, robotic, but jazzy, sound is here. Igor has sent to some guests from the online music community a set of unused Jared’s bass tracks for a tribute project, and this mini-album is a branch of this, as well as it’s part of an ongoing project of albums I’m making for this year. My guitar playing is here to say many things to this absent physical presence, but perennially cybernetic aura. I haven’t had the chance to play with Jared while he was living. The music here was made with an urgency, just like Jared had with his projects. This album is my way to say a HUGE THANK YOU to Jared. And also to the good friend Igor Jovanovic. This project exists specially because of him and Jared. After all, we’re all made of wires and networks.
